The peatiest malts available worldwide, Octomore has developed a cult following. For the 7.1 barley harvested in mainland Scotland was peated to 208ppm, the spirit rested for 5 years in American oak, then bottled at 59.5%
Nose: Sea spray and caramel, lemon balm and pipe tobacco. Peat smoke, vanilla, mint, toffee and peach.
Palate: Smooth, sweet and then smoke, satin soft and warming. Vanilla, honey and citrus meet with leather, smoked mussels and creme brulee.
Finish: The sweetness fades, leaving salt and gentle peat smoke.
