Brand: Glen Scotia
Type: Single Malt
Region: Scotland – Campbeltown
Strength: 46% alc/vol
This is the 15 year old single malt Scotch whisky from Glen Scotia in Campbeltown, also known as the “Wee Toon”, released in 2015 as part of a relaunch and revamp of their core range. The distillers use specially selected American oak casks to age this expression, which compliment a heavier and coastal whisky.
Nose: A multi-fruit compote with notes of sweet melon, peach, pear drops and lemon sherbet, then an apple and ginger rumtopf later developing.
Palate: Vanilla-coated and fruit-rich, the coastal aspect coats the tongue with a wave of salt and ginger spice.
Finish: A warming mouthfeel of toasted briny barley.
A classic maritime dram.
