In this 2019 release, Kilchoman has drawn spirit from 20 oloroso sherry butts, resulting in a huge flavour profile of smoked dark chocolate-coated fruit cake.
Nose: Earthy and pungent farmyard notes, mixed with the maritime character of peat-smoked seaweed. Smoke-poached red berries and sweet daiquiris.
Palate: Amarena cherries, dried chilli flakes before a punch of barbecued mixed berries.
Finish: Lindt Excellence “A touch of Sea Salt”, peat embers lingering.
