When the name Laphroaig (la-froyg) comes to mind one can only think about the mysterious Islay, its residents and of course the rich history. The sultry and seductive Laphroaig 10 year old screams the islands characteristics – bold, smoky and of course intensely coastal. Laphroaig is one of the world’s most loved Islay single malt whiskies. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels for a minimum of 10 years.
Nose: Phenolic, seaweedy, with a hint of estery, melony, sweetness.
Palate: Continuous gentle waves of dry peat lap upon the tastebuds but are balanced by a sweet malt middle and the most hesitant of vanillas.
Finish: Long and peaty, the shy vanilla now begins to show as the oak adds a certain dryness.
