The range honours former owner and manager of Laphroaig, Ian Hunter.Typically peaty, the nose also offers notes of dates, figs, rich cigar smoke, liquorice and dark chocolate. The palate offers notes of orange peel, manuka honey and smoked stone fruits, with waves of peat smoke in the background.
Nose: First thing you notice is the iodine, classic Laphroaig, and then meaty notes like smoked bacon but with a sweet maple syrup cure, toffee, with spices such as pink peppercorns, chilli and liquorice.
Palate: Spicy peppery notes with seaweed and that iodine note again, creamy full nutty texture with stone fruit, rose petal and toffee,
long with nuts and a lemon peel lift.
