Another punchy, peaty Octomore, again a 5yo but this time 156ppm and all ex-bourbon casks comprising 51% Jim Beam, 26% Jack Daniel’s, 15% Clermont and 8% Old Grand-Dad.
Nose: Sweet, sea-salty, peaty, earthy, smoky, farmy.
Palate: Breathtaking in the power and sophistication, that first sip left my whole tongue glowing, salty roasted peanuts, sweet, orchard fruit.
Finish: Baked Islay earth.
