Wolfburn created an exceptional Pedro Xeminez cask finish, solely for the South African market with only a handful of bottles released. The most northern situated distillery on the Scottish mainland and relatively new on the whisky scene, Wolfburn has set out to create quite a brand for themselves. The whiskies are still young but they are rich and full of flavour intensity. The distilleries focus is to release smaller batches that’s crafted to perfection rather then mass production.
Nose: Strawberry Sugus chew, pungent and perfumy, spanspek, allspice, cinnamon & nutmeg, sweet watermelon and freshly cracked walnut shell.
Palate: Initially viscous, vanilla sweet & red-berried, then chilli dark chocolate as the ABV punches, drying to grapefruit and roasted, salted macadamia nuts.
