Aultmore 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky, unveiled in 2014 for the Last Great Malts by Dewar’s. One of the core single malt whiskies featured in the Dewars Scotch blend. The whiskies for this specific expression are matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and ex-oloroso sherry butts, thereafter the whiskies are vatted together in large marrying vats for a few months. This is almost the same process as making a stew, the longer the stew sits for the better, the more complex those flavours become. Bon Appetit.

Tasting notes:
The nose offers malted barley, awash with vanilla & orange cordial with cardamom & ripe banana & eventually pineapple developing. The palate is initially intensely sweet vanilla then orange Seville marmalade, drying to sweet chili and a lingering buttery, sherried oak.
