Initially matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks before being finished for a short period in Japanese mizunara from the Japanese Island of Hokkaido. Mizunara, meaning water oak due to the high moisture content of the wood, needs extensive drying before being turned into casks and is a protected species of oak regulated by the Japanese government.

Tasting notes:
It is vibrant, fruity, and floral on the nose, enjoying a luxuriously smooth mouthfeel with notes of dark chocolate orange, sandalwood and cinnamon synonymous with Mizunara whiskeys. This unique whiskey benefits from an exceptionally long finish of toasted oak and oriental spices, with the dark chocolate lingering even longer.
