Inchmoan 12 year old single malt is born from a combination of malt whiskies from Loch Lomond’s traditional swan neck pot still and their unique straight neck pot still to create an unconventional peat character with a lot of depth marrying smoke and spiciness.
It is matured for 12 years in a mix of recharred American oak and refill bourbon American oak casks giving sweet vanilla background notes that complements the soft peat style of Loch Lomond’s unique still set up.
A great dram for any occasion!
Tasting notes:
Nose: A brilliantly crafted dram that is evident as you take in the exquisitely balanced aromas of the classic island style of sweet ‘n peat. A butterscotch fudge sauce ladled onto poached and peat-smoked cinnamon dusted pears and bananas. Richly exotic, with muscovado sugar & all spice developing in the depths.
Palate: Oily and velvety. Toffee initially then bold as brass as the mouth is coated in charred oak and spice, black pepper, roasted jalapeno pepper.
Finish: Vanilla-dusted, peat-smoked, stick of black liqorice.
