Bigger barrels don’t mean better flavour. The proof is Laphroaig Quarter Cask, inspired by the old tradition of transporting whisky on packhorses. Fortunately for said horses, it was stored in smaller quarter casks that carry flavour into your dram today. Their reduced size means the spirit has more contact with the wood, amplifying the natural flavours of whisky first matured in ex-Bourbon barrels.

Tasting notes:
Nose: Smouldering peat with aromas of coconut and banana​.
Palate: Deep, complex, smoky. A surprising gentle sweetness and a
really long finish, drying with appropriate smoke and spice.​
