Description
Brand: Naked Malt
Category: Whisky
Type: Blended Malt
Region: Scotland – Speyside
Strength: 40% alc/vol
Formerly known as Naked Grouse, the brand was officially renamed in 2021 to emphasize its premium blend of 100% single malts without any added grain whisky.
The name refers to the use of ”naked” first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. This means the casks have never held Scotch whisky before, allowing the spirit to deeply absorb the intense fruity and sweet notes of the seasoned wood.
The Blend Components: It is an expertly crafted combination of world-class single malts, primarily sourced from Edrington”s top-tier distilleries, including Macallan, Highland Park, and Glenrothes
Tasting notes:
Nose: Rich aromas of cherry compote, buttery toffee, orchard fruits, malt, and a hint of warm custard.
Palate: Thick and sherried, featuring heavy notes of sultanas, sticky toffee pudding, baked apples, fudge, and sweet caramel.
Medium length finish, unravelling into soft baking spices, toasted oak, cocoa, and a very faint, subtle whiff of smoke at the end.
