Using a series of exclusively unpeated distillations from 2009 – 2011, the 2021 release was matured in first fill bourbon barrels ensuring a spirit that truly reflects the Glen Scotia Distillery Character. These casks have been vatted together before finishing in first fill Bordeaux red wine casks, from the Medoc region, for a period of 5 months under the watchful eye of the Master Blender, Michael Henry. Once the perfect balance is achieved between the red fruits from the wine casks and the classic fruit, spice and maritime notes of the Glen Scotia spirit was reached, the spirt was then married into refill bourbon barrels before bottling at cask strength, 56.1% ABV.
