Just add a dash of spice a splash of stonefruit a sprinkle of nuts and voila the French oak reserve will be right up your alley! Limousin Oak is a popular choice for the maturation of Cognac and South African brandies. It’s also fastly becoming a very popular choice of wood for the tedious matuaration of precious liquid gold. The Glenlivet 15 year old is initially matured in white oak casks, then finished off in French oak. Cask finishes add to the complexity and character of the whisky, we say harrah to that!
Perfumed Pink sweets, bubblegum & sweet pea dominate the barley with butterscotch, orange citrus & marmalade in the background. Soft & gently sweet on the tongue with loads of spice peppering the mid palate & a dry but lingering finish.
