Brand: Bells
Category: Whisky
Type: Blended Malt
Region: Scotland – Highlands
Strength: 43% alc/vol
Bell’s Special Reserve blended malt is the big brother of the ubiquitous Bell’s blend. Being a blended malt, no grain is present, so a richer, more malty flavour is the result. Some of the key malts featured are Blair Athol, Dufftown, Inchgower, Glenkinchie, and Caol Ila.
Tasting notes:
The nose has rich fruits embalmed with a splash of oloroso sherry, smoke weaving its tendrils through the dark fruit stew. Oily and smooth on the palate and beautifully balanced, the rich honeyed fruits are dominated by the peppery spice and peat smoke on the finish.
