The mind blowing Kavalan Solist Vhino Barrique is produced at the King Car Distillery in Taiwan. The late Dr. Jim Swan did quite a bit of consulting at King Car distillery and introduced the re-toasting and charring of wine casks. When a cask is re-toasted and charred the pores of the oak opens up resulting in better wood and spirit interaction. This creates a cleaner, fruitier and more in depth style of whisky. We take our hats off to this genius concept of wood management. In 2015 this expression won the worlds best single malt award at the annual World Whisky Awards. The Solist cask strength range focuses on single cask releases, the batches released will be very different from one another not just in flavour and colour but they will also vary in alcohol percentages. Better start collecting them!

Tasting notes:
Nose: A compelling marinated European oak stew of plums, dates, liquorice,dark toffee and mocha.
Palate: Dessert wine sweet, this is a flavour extravaganza, with dark chocolate and cloves and an exotic finish of raisins and prunes seeped in a spicy Sangria.
